LONDON (Sporting Alert) — England are 98 for three at lunch on Day One of the opening Investec Test against Sri Lanka at Lord’s.

Captain Alastair Cook, his new opening partner and debutant Sam Robson and Gary Ballance are all back in the pavilion are the visitors took the edge in the first session.

Nuwan Pradeep has so far taken two wickets – removing Robson for just one run and Ballance for 23.

Kulasekara is the other wicket taker for Sri Lanka and he bowled the skipper Cook for 17.

Ian Bell, 41 not out and Joe Root, who is on 6 not out are the batsmen at the crease.

Sri Lanka won the the toss and elected to bowl first on a wicket that offered some assistants in the early goings.

England hand debuts to batsmen Robson and Moeen Ali, as well as paceman Chris Jordan.

Liam Plunkett also returns to the squad after seven years and will join Jordan, Stuart Broad, and James Anderson in the bowling attack.
