Inactive Players, Live Stream Miami Dolphins at New York Jets; Tua OUT

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa

As expected, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is among the inactive players today for the Miami Dolphins against the winless New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Live streaming is available on the CBS Network and CBS All-Access platforms at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Tagovailoa was downgraded from questionable to doubtful for the game over the weekend after suffering a left thumb injury during Wednesday’s practice. and Miami has confirmed that the rookie QB is inactive today.

This means Ryan Fitzpatrick, who started the season as the starting quarterback before losing out to Tagovailoa, despite impressing the coaches and fellow teammates, makes his seventh start of the campaign.

Dolphins coach Brian Flores said in the week that he wasn’t concerned about Tagovailoa missing the game. The rookie was benched for Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s game defeat against the Broncos, but was still expected to start if he was fit.

Fitzpatrick, a very experienced quarterback in the league, starts today and will have rookie Reid Sinnett as his back today in his first NFL game.

The New York Jets (0-10) are still searching for their first win of the season after starting the campaign losing all 10 of their opening games.

New York was shutout in the first meeting between the two sides, which ended 24-0 to Miami, is seriously running out of chances to avoid an embarrassing 0-16 end to this season.

Jets inactive players: QB James Morgan, LG Alex Lewis, RT George Fant, RT Chuma Edoga, TE Ross Travis.

Dolphins inactive players: QB Tua Tagovailoa, RB Salvon Ahmed, G Solomon Kindley, FB Chandler Cox, DT Benito Jones.
