SPORTING ALERT – Manchester United’s left-back Luke Shaw has been taken off the field with a leg injury in the early minutes of the Champions League clash at PSV.
Shaw, who has started the season brilliantly, following an injured hit first campaign last year, went on a surge into the PSV penalty area before being tackled by the driving Hector Moreno.

Moreno’s 18th-minute challenge was clean, but the defender’s trailing leg made firm contact with Shaw, who immediately felt the pain.
Luke Shaw pix show his right leg going the wrong way, half way down his shin. We can’t say what it is exactly, but we can say it’s bad #MUFC

“It looked like a fair challenge. Shaw came off to a rapturous round of applause from both sets of fans and rightly so,” former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke said on Sky Sports News HQ.
“The game has to go on and United will be more determined to try and get a result for Luke Shaw I’m sure.”
After a long delay, the England international, who was motionless during the on-field treatment, was then stretched off the field and it didn’t look good. Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal went over to check on his star full-back and the look on the Dutchman’s face said it all.
We will continue to wait on more developments on Shaw, who could very well be out for some time.
We’d like to send our best wishes to @LukeShaw23 following his injury while playing for #MUFC tonight. Come back stronger, Luke. #saintsfc — Southampton FC (@SouthamptonFC) September 15, 2015
