DETROIT —— The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Detroit Pistons 124-117 on Sunday night, December 11 at the Little Caesars Arena. In an entertaining matchup, Anthony Davis and LeBron James both had impressive scoring nights for the Lakers.
Davis led the way for the Lakers with 34 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, and two steals on 12 of 18 shooting, while James finished with 35 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in the win for Los Angeles (11-15) which stop a three-game skid.
Trailing 61-49 at halftime, the Pistons dominated the third quarter to outscore the LA Lakers 41-30 to cut the deficit to one point at 91-90, but they were unable to contain the Lakers’ high-powered duo on offense in the fourth quarter.
Bojan Bogdanovic led the way for Detroit with a season-best 38 points, including a career-high 25 points in the third quarter with rookie Jaden Ivey adding 16 points in the defeat.
Saddiq Bey finished with 14 points, Alec Burks ended with 11 points and Jalen Duren grabbed 13 rebounds for the Pistons (7-22) who shot 46.2% from the field. The Pistons have lost three straight and have won just seven times altogether this season.
Los Angeles shot 54.8% from the field overall and made 11 shots from 3-points, while outscoring the Pistons in three out of the four quarters.
