OKLAHOMA CITY (Sporting Alert) — LeBron James of the Miami Heat left the game with a bloody nose, after he was hit by Serge Ibaka of the Oklahoma City Thunder in their contest on Thursday night.
James, who scored the first 12 points of the game, was hit in the face from a follow through block attempt by Ibaka as the Miami Heat star drove home a dunk.
The reigning MVP who was determined to lead his team to a victory over the NBA team with the best record, went hard and collided with Thunder power forward Ibaka, which left him face-down and bloody on the court.
He was taken back locker room, holding a towel to his nose and never returned.
Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said James “has a swollen nose, he got hit pretty good in the nose.
“We will evaluate him when we get back to Miami,” Spoelstra added.
James ended with 33 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the game as the Heat beat the Thunder 103-81
Chris Bosh ended with 24 points and eight rebounds.
“He said he thought it was broken,” said Dwyane Wade, who finished with 24 points and 10 assists. “But hopefully it’s not and he’ll be back.”
