BATON ROUGE, La., Sporting Alert – First pitch in the Baton Rouge Regional matchup between LSU and Southeastern Louisiana is now scheduled for 9:45 p.m. ET and live streaming coverage will be on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.
The start time for this battle was initially set for 8:00 p.m., but a rain delay during the clash between the No. 3-seeded Rice and No. 4-seeded Texas Southern pushed back the starting time for the second game.
LSU, which blasted 15 runs in a pull away victory over Texas Southern on Friday, will be hoping for a second win that would send the SEC Champions and Baton Rouge Regional top-seeded team into the regional final.
Southeastern Louisiana, which beat Rice 12-6 in its Regional Opener, can also punch its ticket into the final with a win here at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
The start of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional Game 3 earlier today, was delayed by 45-minutes from to 2:45 p.m. because of lightning.
In the end, Rice pulled away to beat Texas Southern, 13-6, and will take on the loser of the Southeastern Louisiana/LSU battle.
The Tigers are eliminated.
