MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert — Miami Heat picked up another win in their NBA preseason schedule with a confident 117-115 victory over the Washington Wizards at the AmericanAirlines Arena here on Wednesday night.
The Heat finished the warmup fixtures with a 3-2 record.
The likes of Goran Dragic, Hassan Whiteside and Dion Waiters were all rested for the Miami Heat.
Rookie Bam Adebayo presented his best performance of the preseason after the former Kentucky standout had 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting in 23 minutes to lead five Miami players double-digit scoring.
Tyler Johnson also hit double-digit off the bench after he finished with 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting to go with three assists, three rebounds and two steals.
Josh Richardson scored 13 points, the only Heat starter in double figures, while James Johnson added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists and Jordan Mickey ended with 12 points, six boards and two steals for Miami, which shot 49.4-percent.
Meanwhile, Jason Smith scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Wizards, while John Wall added 16 points, eight assists and four rebounds in the defeat.
Bradley Beal chipped in with 15 points, four assists and four rebounds, Mike Scott scored 13 points and Otto Porter Jr. contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.
Elsewhere, Kelly Oubre Jr. grabbed a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds and Jodie Meeks tallied 10 points in the defeat for Washington, which shot 50-percent from the floor.
The Miami Heat will close out their preseason schedule at Philadelphia on Friday night.
The Wizards are at the New York Knicks on the same night.
