A number of No. 1 seeds are facing elimination on Day 4, including the NCAA tournament’s No. 2 overall seed North Carolina.

The Tar Heels (48-13), who were stunned by Davidson in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament Friday evening, bounced back with an 8-1 victory over Michigan in Saturday’s elimination game and the ACC representatives face another must-win situation against No. 2 Florida Gulf Coast (43-19) today.

Florida Gulf Coast beat Michigan in its opener, but fell to Davidson in a close contest on Saturday and will be eliminated from the NCAA tournament with another defeat.

Live coverage of this game is set for 1:00 p.m. and it is on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.

The winner of this battle will take on the Wildcats later tonight in the regional final at 6 p.m.

A second game could be forced on Monday if Davidson fails to win on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, top-seed Kentucky enters its battle with Indiana, knowing that winning is a must to stay alive in the 2017 NCAA tournament.

The Wildcats missed out at securing a place in the Lexington Regional final on Saturday after they were edged out 5-4 by NC State and the SEC outfits would like to have another crack against their ACC rivals.

In another fixture involving a No. 1 seed facing elimination, No. 1 Florida State (40-21) and No. 4 Tennessee Tech (41-20) will battle in the Tallahassee Regional at Dick Howser Stadium with No. 3 Auburn awaits the winner.
