Los Angeles Lakers hold a 66-58 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks at halftime

MILWAUKEE (December 2) —— Anthony Davis scored 23 points, including a fadeaway jumper late in the second quarter and LeBron James blocked Khris Middleton in the closing seconds as the Los Angeles Lakers take a 66-58 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Friday night.

Davis has so far shot 11 of 14 from the field for 78.6%, while James has 10 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Lakers, who shot 56.3% as a team from the field in the first half. Russell Westbrook has a first-half game high eight assists for the Lakers.

Making his season debut tonight after recovering from a wrist surgery in the summer, Khris Middleton contributed 10 points and three assists for Milwaukee, which shot 50% on 23 of 46 attempts from the field in the opening half.

The 66 points scored by the Lakers in the first half is the most the Bucks have given up in any half this season so they will be very disappointed about their defensive plays halfway through this contest.

This is perhaps the best half the Lakers have played so far this season on the road. LeBron and company led by as many as 14 points in the first half.

Elsewhere, the Boston Celtics lead the Miami Heat 62-59 at halftime with Jaylen Brown leading the way with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. Tyler Herro has 18 points and four rebounds for the Heat, who welcome back Jimmy Butler from a knee injury after he missed the previous seven games.

Also at halftime around the league, the San Antonio Spurs lead the New Orleans Pelicans 52-49, while the Philadelphia 76ers trail the Memphis Grizzlies 64-54 at halftime.
