DALLAS, Sporting Alert – NFL scores and box scores in Week 12 as the action gets going on Thanksgiving Day.

PANTHERS 33, COWBOYS 13

ARLINGTON, Texas —  Cam Newton passed for 183 yards and ran for a score, and the Carolina Panthers crushed the Dallas Cowboys 33-13 to stay undefeated this season.

The win saw the NFC leaders becoming the 16th NFL team to start a season with an 11-0 record, while extending their NFL-best winning streak to 15 regular-season games.

In the midst of that, though, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo suffered an injury on his left collarbone, which will force him to miss the rest of the NFL season, ESPN is reporting.

Romo reaggravated the same left collarbone forced him to miss seven straight games — all of which the Cowboys (3-8) dropped.

Jerricho Cotchery had five catches for 73 yards and Greg Olsen caught the ball five times for 70 yards in the win for the Panthers.

Romo went 11-for-21 on passes for 106 yards with three interceptions before being replaced by Matt Cassel, who threw for 93 yards and one touchdown in the defeat for Dallas.

LIONS 45, EAGLES 14

Matthew Stafford threw five touchdown passes in leading the Detroit Lions to a 45-14 blowout victory over Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving Day.

Stafford, who completed 27-for-38 for 337 yards, threw three of his TD passes in the first half as the Lions took a 24-7 halftime lead.

Calvin Johnson took eight of his 14 targets for 93 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, while Theo Riddick caught all five of his targets for 62 yards and a touchdown and Golden Tate had seven catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Joique Bell ran for a score in the fourth quarter and Ameer Abdullah rushed for 63 yards in the win for the Lions, who won three games in a row to improve to 4-7 and stay in contention in the NFC North.

Mark Sanchez went 19-for-27 on completed passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles (4-7) who dropped three in a row and four of the last five.

Jordan Matthews had three catches for 60 yards and a touchdown, while Brent Celek caught a pass for a touchdown in the defeat.
