STILLWATER, Okla. (Sporting Alert) — After dropping the opening game of their NCAA Stillwater Super Regional series against UC Irvine Friday night Oklahoma State will look to bounce back and keep their season alive.
The Cowboys (48-17) were beaten 8-4 by UC Irvine (39-23) at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium, which was a massive setback for them on Friday.
The two teams meet again at the same venue in Game 2 at 10:00 p.m. Saturday night and junior outfielder Zach Fish says he is confident of securing that vital victory to force a deciding game Sunday.
“We’ve done this a lot this year — come back after a tough loss,” Fish said on www.okstate.com. “I’m not worried about where we are.
“I know we’ll be prepared and ready to go tomorrow. It’s a good team that we’re facing, Irvine. They came off a big weekend down in Oregon State.
“I think if we stick together, keep doing what we’re doing and continue to fight and continue to be who we are, I think we’re going to have a good game (Saturday).”
