Amongst the top transfer stories on Monday, it is being reported by the Daily Star that Argentina and Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria wants to join Manchester United as he eyes a move away the Bernabeu. It is understood that the £45m-rated Di Maria isn’t interested in joining Paris St-Germain on a loan deal.
And stay with Manchester United, The Sun says Roma are asking for £79m for Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman, despite the player being out since March with a cruciate knee ligament injury. The same newspaper also says that Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is hoping sign Norwich midfielder Leroy Fer with QPR also in the running to land the Dutch international.
Eyes where in the papers on Monday, the Daily Mirror is reporting that Liverpool are set to land another Southampton player, with manager Brendan Rodgers eyeing a move for striker Jay Rodriguez, this is after calling off a move to sign French World Cup forward Loic Remy, who apparently failed a medical last week.
In the Daily Mail, Inter Milan are pushing to complete a move for Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo, as the 28-year old Italian is growing unsettled and ways to get away. Southampton paid £15m Osvaldo last summer when he joined the English Premier League side from Roma.
