MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United is again being linked with a move for Holland midfielder Wesley Sneijder, while manager David Moyes is reportedly looking to offload Ashley Young and Anderson in the January transfer window.
The English Premier League champions are currently struggling to find any form this season and many have blamed the mediocre midfield core for the dip in form since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Manchester United missed out at signing a number of transfer targets in the summer and it is now believed that Moyes is planning a major clear-out as he seeks to freshen up his squad for the new year.
It is understood that Holland international Sneijder, who has long been on Man United’s radar in the past, before his move to Galatasaray, is again a target for the Red Devils.
The Daily Express is reporting that Moyes will be trying once again to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford when the EPL transfer window re-opens next month, as former Everton man Marouane Fellaini continues to struggle since his summer move.
Manchester United, reports claim, is also monitoring Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus and has even sent scouts to watch him. Former Chelsea player Nemanja Matic is also said to be on EPL side’s transfer watch list.
The Daily Mirror is also reporting that Moyes is looking to offload Young and Anderson to make way for new signings, and will even look to loan them out in January should he find no buyers.
