Sri Lanka bats first against West Indies – World Twenty20 1st Semi-finals

DHAKA, Bangladesh (Sporting Alert) –Sri Lanka have won the toss and will have a bat first in the first of the two ICC World Twenty20 tournament semi-finals at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, on Thursday night.

Lasith Malinga, the Sri Lanka captain for tonight’s game, says allrounder Seekkuge Prasanna has come into the side for Thisara Perera, while West Indies skipper Darren Sammy, who admits that he would have batted first too, says the defending champions are unchanged for the contest.

A pumped up Chris Gayle is clearly ready for a big inning for the West Indies, but the spotlights will first be in strike bowlers Samuel Badree and Krishmar Santokie, as well as spinner Sunil Narine to help limit the Sri Lankan batsmen.

West Indies:  Dwayne Smith, Chris Gayle,  Lendl Simmons, Marlon Samuels,  Dwayne Bravo,  Denesh Ramdin (wk),  Darren Sammy (capt),  Andre Russell, Sunil Narine,  Samuel Badree, Krishmar Santokie.
