(Sporting Alert) — Juventus head coach Antonio Conte has dismissed reports linking the Serie A champions with Manchester United winger Nani, while Borussia Dortmund squashed rumours midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will be leaving Signal Iduna Park.
Nani, who is currently out with a hamstring injury, has been the subject of a transfer move when the new window reopens in January, despite recently signing a new contract with the EPL champions.
Juventus, according to media reports, has emerged as the leading contender to sign the Portugal winger, but Conte says he knows nothing about those reports and will be leaving the transfer happenings to the club’s hierarchy.
“Nani? I’m the coach. For these things there are (director Beppe) Marotta and (sporting director Fabio) Paratici,” he said.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund executive Hans-Joachim Watzke moved to play down reports that Manchester United and Real Madrid target Gundogan is set for a move.
“If we believe all those stories from Spain in terms of which player is to leave our club, we would have trouble picking a proper team,” he told German newspaper BILD.
“Neither Ilkay nor his father have yet told us anything about leaving.”
It is understood that Gundogan is wanted by Manchester United boss David Moyes, who is willing to send Shinji Kagawa back to the German side in a possible deal.
