FINAL #19 Oklahoma 31 v #23 Tennessee 24

KNOXVILLE, TN – Watch live coverage between No. 19 Oklahoma and No. 23 Tennessee on ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN app on Saturday. Live GameCast Streaming Available as well.

The build-up to this contest has been burning since midweek, as the Sooners from the Big 12 conference are determined to hand another defeat to the SEC outfits in the Volunteers.

Last season Oklahoma picked up a 34-10 victory in this fixture in Norman, but expect something different in this campaign inside what will be a deafening Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee supporters are determined to use the atmosphere in Knoxville to spur the home team on, as the hosts look to even up the series with the Sooners at 2-2.

Anticipate a very impressive performance from the fired-up Volunteers on Saturday, despite them coming in as the underdogs.

A victory for Tennessee could see them push up further and even above Oklahoma in the next edition of the Associated Press college football rankings, while the Sooners are also looking to gain some national recognition with a victory.

In their victory over Bowling Green last week, Tennessee tallied 604 total yards, but also gave up 557 in the same column.

More importantly though for Oklahoma, was the 433 yards passing that they gave up against Bowling Green and traveling Sooners will certainly want to exploit that area come Saturday.

At the same time, it isn’t expected to be easy here at the Neyland Stadium, as the Vols usually get the job done at home.

They head into this contest with a 94-18-5 and an 82.5-percent record all-time in home openers with 20 successive victories on their turf in openers since 1995.

Interestingly, according to the Vols athletics department, “no opposing team has scored more than 19 points in each of the last 20 home openers.”

Things could be difficult for the Sooners.

Certainly one of the games to follow this very closely this weekend.
