Ben Simmons recorded a triple-double to help the Philadelphia 76ers hand the Los Angeles Lakers a narrow 107-106 defeat on Wednesday night. The defeat was the first road loss of the season for the Lakers, who had won 10 straight games entering the contest. Watch complete highlights of the game.
76ers Impressed At Home
Four players scored in double figures for Philadelphia (13-6) which improved to 10-1 Wells Fargo Center this season with the victory.
Tobias Harris hits a jumper with 3-seconds remaining and the Sixers beat the Lakers to snap Los Angeles’ three-game winning streak.
Harris finished with 24 points and seven rebounds, while Joe Embiid top-scored with 28 points to go with six rebounds and Simmons collected 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for Philadelphia.
“Some people think we haven’t played anybody,” Harris said. “For us, we wanted to go against the champs. We wanted to see where we’re at.”
Danny Green chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds, while making four 4-pointers for the 76ers, who bounced back from the 119-104 loss to the Pistons on Monday.
LeBron James finished with 34 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Anthony Davis added 23 points and eight rebounds for the Lakers (14-5).
“It didn’t go our way but I loved our fight,” James said.
