LOS ANGELES — Evan Mobley had a double-double and led four USC scorers in double figures and the Trojans defeated Oregon State 75-62 in a Pac-12 Conference matchup on Thursday.
Another Double-Double For Mobley
Mobley had 14 points and 13 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season. He shot 6 of 12 from the field and blocked three shot.
Isaiah White scored 11 points and five rebounds and Noah Baumann added 11 points. Ethan Anderson ended with 10 points, while Chevez Goodwin grabbed 10 rebounds and eight points for the Trojans (13-3, 7-2 Pac-12) who pulled away over the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
“They’re a really good team this year and they’re not easy to score on,” Anderson said.
Ethan Thompson paced Oregon State with 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
Jarod Lucas added 18 points and made four 3-pointers for the Beavers (8-6, 4-4), who had won the previous meeting 58-56 on Jan. 19.
USC, which was winning its eighth game in nine outings, shot 44.6% from the field and outrebounded Oregon State 48-30.
“We didn’t play a perfect game, but we grinded out a home win,” USC coach Andy Enfield said. “They played a physical and energetic basketball game for 40 minutes.”
The Trojans led 30-27 at halftime and outscored the Beavers 45-35 in the second half.
“Our shooting in the first half wasn’t the best. In the second, we were able to get our rhythm and up our pace,” Anderson said. “We’re hoping to put together a complete game here soon.”
Oregon State will next be in action when it travels to take on No. 23 UCLA on Saturday.
USC had been scheduled to entertain Oregon on Saturday, but the game has been postponed because of COVID-19 concerns with the Ducks.
