KINGSTON, Jamaica, Sporting Alert — Watch live streaming coverage of Day 2 action from the 2017 Jamaica Trials at the National Stadium in Kingston, on Friday.
Day 2 action will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. local time) and there are nine finals listed on the schedule.
The four-day championships, which will select the senior team for the IAAF World Championships in London and the World U18 Championships in Kenya, the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas, and the Pan American Under-20 Championships in Peru, will be streaming live on 1Spotmedia.com. Among the titles up for grab are the men’s and women’s 100m titles where Olympic Champion Elaine Thompson and 2011 World champion Yohan Blake are the pre-trials favourites.
Thompson and Blake will both run in the semi-finals of their respective events at 7:00 p.m. and 7:12 p.m. and they are expected to make an easy progress into the finals.
The women’s and men’s 400m hurdles finals will be at 8:10 p.m. and 8:20 p.m., while the men’s 5000m final go off at 7:42 p.m.
One of the highlighted events at the 2017 Jamaica Trials is expected to be the men’s 400m and the heats will go off at 5:45 p.m.
Collegiate star Nathon Allen and local based quarter miler Demish Gaye are expected to battle it out for the title, but the likes of Fitzroy Dunkley and Akeem Bloomfield will also be in the field.
Meanwhile, in action in the field, the Pole Vault for men and the women’s Discus Throw and Long Jump titles are up for the taking.
