BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil (SportingAlert) — As expected, Gonzalo Higuaín comes into the starting lineup for Argentina in today’s Group F World Cup game with Iran.
Higuaín starts alongside Lionel Messi and Sergio Agüero in a three-man attacking line as the group favourites look to build on their opening game victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Also starting today for Argentina is Fernando Gago, who will play in a three man midfield that also includes Javier Mascherano, playing in his 100th game for the national team and Ángel Di María.
Higuaín and Gago comes in for Maxi Rodríguez and Hugo Campagnaro who both started the last outing.
Ezequiel Lavezzi, Rodrigo Palacio and Martín Demichelis are amongst the substitutes.
For Iran, meanwhile, Masoud Shojaei comes into the starting lineup to offer a little bit more attacking option.
Iran played to a 0-0 draw with Nigeria in their opening World Cup game.
