Liverpool Downed The Blues Last Time

Goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson carried Liverpool to a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge when these two teams last met last September and it should be another close game at Anfield today.

Will Chelsea turned the tables on the road?

The pundits believe so.

Liverpool enter this fixture on a poor stretch of form, losing three straight in all competitions, while Chelsea have quickly recovered from the defeat to Tottenham with four straight wins in all competitions, including two in the EPL.

The Reds, though, welcome back star forward Sadio Mane from international duty at the African Cup of Nations and he could return to the lineup against Chelsea.

Mane To Be Assessed

Mane missed Liverpool’s last seven matches due his involvement for Senegal at Gabon 2017 and Reds manager Jürgen Klopp confirmed there will be assessment for his star forward before the game.

“I don’t know exactly [if he will be involved],” Klopp said on Liverpool FC official website. “Ray Haughan and the team management did an outstanding job to bring him back as soon as possible.

“He is now on his way and that is good.”

Chelsea are travelling well at the top of the Premier League standings and enter this game with an eight-point cushion.

Antonio Conte’s men have 55 points and are 10 points ahead of Liverpool in the EPL standings.
