French striker Karim Benzema netted the other goal as Madrid moved three-points behind leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Bale, who transferred from English Premier League side Tottenham in the summer, was called on to lead the attack in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, who missed the game because of an injury, and the winger surely delivered.
He headed home from close range a rebound off a shot taken by Angel Di Maria, who was parried into his path by goalkeeper Diego Marino in the 33rd minute.
Two-minutes later, Bale then found Benzema to make it 2-0, as the home side cruised into the interval with the comfortable lead.
With 64-minutes on the clock, the Wales international made Valladolid paid for some sloppy defending – making it 3-0, before he grabbed his team’s fourth and in the process, completing his hat-trick when he started and finished off a late counterattack, which ended in Marcelo finding him with a low cross.
Winning as well on Saturday was second place Atletico Madrid, who beat Elche with second half goals from Koke and Diego Costa.
