The Trail Blazers (34-14) have won just once in the last four games, and are coming off a disappointing 100-90 defeat to the Washington Wizards on Monday.
Against the Knicks, the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard and Robin Lopez will all be hoping to lead the way in helping the team return to the kind of form that had many looking at them as a very strong title favourites.
The New York Knicks (19-29), meanwhile, have dropped their last two games and are still battling to find a consistent run of form that will not be interrupted by a series of long skids.
New York has won four of the last six, but have also dropped six of the last ten games, including going on a five game losing streak after building up a similar number of consecutive wins.
Knicks head coach Mike Woodson confirmed that forward Kenyon Martin (ankle) is out.
