The Southeastern Conference (SEC) men’s basketball standings after the latest scores and results from this weekend, on Saturday, Jan. 7. Several weeks of fixtures are still to come, but the Alabama Crimson Tide remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record, putting them at the top of the standings. They have also won four straight overall, bringing their overall record to 13-2.

Alabama is closely followed by the Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies, both with 3-0 records in conference play and four straight wins overall, putting their overall records at 13-2 and 10-5, respectively.

Missouri, Auburn, and Georgia round out the top half of the standings, each with 2-1 conference records. The Vanderbilt Commodores, LSU Tigers, and Arkansas Razorbacks are all sitting at 1-1, with the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, and Florida Gators all 1-2 in conference play.

The bottom of the SEC standings is currently occupied by the Ole Miss Rebels, who have lost four straight in all games and sit at 0-3 in conference play. The South Carolina Gamecocks are also 0-2 in conference play.

Overall, the SEC has seen a competitive start to the new season with several closely contested games. The Crimson Tide have been particularly strong, with a 4-2 record against AP Top 25 opponents. However, several teams, including Georgia, LSU, Florida, Arkansas, and Ole Miss, are still searching for their first win away from home this season. The Kentucky Wildcats have also struggled for consistency, going 9-0 at home but have yet to pick up a road win this season.

With the conference schedule continuing in midweek, it will be interesting to see how the standings change in the coming days/weeks.
