MUMBAI (Sporting Alert) — Darren Sammy says he and his teammates will be ready for India in the 2nd and final Test match at Mumbai, but Windies legendary Michael Holding doesn’t think the captain deserves to be in the team squad.
Holding, a former West Indies fast bowler who is now a cricket commentator, blasts Sammy’s awkward batting style and “mediocre” bowling ahead of the 2nd Test.
“The opinions I gave about Darren Sammy previously, nothing has happen to make me change that opinion. He should not be in the team,” Holding said during an interview with espncricinfo.com.
To sum things up, Holding says Sammy’s “bowling is mediocre,” while adding that the skipper must cut out the slugging and adapt to the batting style needed to do well in test cricket.
