(Sporting Alert) — The glory of Boise State football needs to be back. Gone were the days when the Broncos competed in gruelling games to stay undefeated.
Boise State faces No. 18 Ole Miss in one of the most anticipated college football games on Thursday, August 28, at the Georgia Dome, Atlanta GA.
Game Time: 6:00 PM
What: Boise State vs No. 18 Ole Miss
Live Streaming: WatchESPN, ESPN
Place: Georgia Dome
The Broncos start the season with a first year coach Bryan Harsin. He has been a part of Boise State as a player and as an assistant. Surely, the Broncos are in great hands because Harsin has been in the organization since 2001.
At the quarterback position, Grant Hedrick will have his ways to dismantle the opponents’ defense. Last year, he had 1,826 yards and 16 touchdowns while taking half of the snaps with Joe Southwick. Hedrick might be positioning the team into the national spotlight if the he controls the offense and he leads his team in winning games.
The passing offense is just part of the weapons of the Broncos, the rushing game would be a big component for success through tailback Jay Ajayi who had 1,425 yards on 249 carries in 2013. Ajayi had also 18 touchdowns.
Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace is set to explode in the season opener. The senior quarterback can pass Eli Manning for Ole Miss passing records.
However, what Wallace wants is to play in Atlanta with the title on the line for the SEC Championship game. He had 3,346 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2013.
Wallace will have the luxury of having wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, who had 72 catches for 608 yards and five touchdowns last season. Moreover, with the two connecting long passes, the Broncos will have a frustrated night defending.
In 2013, the Rebels averaged 473.3 yards per game in offense through the ability of Wallace to lead his team. The Rebels captured the Music City Bowl 25-17 over Georgia Tech.
The Rebels have the advantage over the Broncos. Anybody from the SEC is quite faster and stronger that the Broncos would not be able to match. Ole Miss possesses the athleticism of the players and that it has the stringent defense to contain the opposing team.
Unless the Broncos find their groove through determination and preparation, they will bow to the Rebels.
