Regional Super50 Jerome Taylor: Jamaica Scorpions

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Campus Colleges and Campuses Marooners recorded their second win in the 2017 Regional Super50 on Thursday, while Jamaica Scorpions picked up their first win at the tournament.

LUCAS STREET, Barbados – At Windward Park, talented young opener Amir Jangoo stroked his second consecutive half-century to guide Marooners to a seven-wicket win over ICC Americas.

Jangoo hit a top score of 52 runs with six 4s and a six, while Kyle Corbin made an unbeaten 47, Cassius Burton struck 38 not out and captain Jamal Smith scored 36 to help CCC chased down its winning target of 182.

Marooners finished at 184 for three off 45.4 overs.

Earlier, Campus Colleges and Campuses Marooners won the toss and asked ICC Americas to take the first strike and then restricted them to 181 for nine off their 50 overs.

Player of the Match Keon Harding (2-27), Jermaine Levy (2-43) and Vikash Mohan (2-45) finished with two wickets apiece for CCC.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Meanwhile, Jamaica Scorpions bounced back from the 75-run defeat to Combined Campuses and Colleges in their opening 2017 Regional Super50 fixture on Monday with a 41 run victory over Guyana Jaguars at Kensington Oval.

Winning the toss and elected to bat first, Scorpions reached 249 for eight off 50 overs.

Opener Chadwick Walton hit six 4s and four 6s on his way to making a top score of 82, while Devon Thomas scored 56 not out and Jermaine Blackwood made 42 to lead the way for Jamaica with the bat.

Steven Jacobs (2-27), Leslie Reifer (2-41) and Veerasammy Permaul (2-48) took two wickets each for Jaguars.

In reply, after a lengthy delay, Guyana reached 208 all out off 44 overs, with veteran batsman Shiv Chanderpaul scoring 101 to lead the way.

Player of the Match fast bowler Jerome Taylor took five wickets for 40 runs and fellow pacer Reynard Leveridge ended with 3 for 38 to lead the way with the ball for Jamaica.
