TEXAS, Sporting Alert – Top 25 Week 7 college football fixtures continue on Saturday with another loaded schedule, as the conference battles resume.
The action gets going with a Big Ten clash at Ryan Field, in Evanston, IL, where No. 20 Northwestern will take on No. 17 Iowa.
The Wildcats (5-1) are looking to rebound from their first defeat of the season, following last week’s 38-0 shutout defeat to Michigan, while the Hawkeyes (6-0) are hoping to stay undefeated this season.
We are picking Northwestern’s defense which is ranked 12th in the country to rebound from last week’s setback and play a massive part in helping to finally end Iowa’s perfect start to the term.
Also going off at 11:00 a.m. CT, is the battle between No. 13 Ole Miss and the undefeated Memphis (5-0) at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, in Tennessee.
The Rebels (5-1), who have 48 all-time victories over Memphis, are rightfully listed as favourites to win this one again and we will not argue with those predictions.
Ole Miss and Memphis are ranked joint-seventh in the nation for points scored per contest, at 47.0, so we can expect the scoreboard to keep ticking over on Saturday.
The Tigers (5-0) are facing its first AP top 25 ranked opponents of the season.
Meanwhile, No. 2 Baylor will face West Virginia in a Big 12 clash at McLane Stadium, in Waco, TX.
The Bears (5-0) are the No. 1 team in the country in points scored per game, at 64, and they have tallied 321 points through the first five games of the season.
Baylor is scoring at least 55 in each game, the highest amount of points through the first five games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, so what can we expect today.
The men from Texas, are the front runners for the Big 12 title this season.
Elsewhere, in other early college football kick-off in Week 7, Mississippi State, looking to return to the AP top 25 rankings, will entertain Louisiana Tech at Davis Wade Stadium, in Starkville.
No. 11 Florida State will battle with Louisville at Doak Campbell Stadium, in Tallahassee.
No. 1 Ohio State will play host to Penn State, but the top games to watch in Week 7 are the clashes between No. 7 Michigan State at No. 12 Michigan at 2:30 p.m. CT and No. 10 Alabama at No. 9 Texas A&M at the same time on CBS.
