Lamar Jackson of Louisville

CLEMSON, SC, Sporting Alert – The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) 2016 college football schedule for Week 7 on Friday and Saturday, October 14-15.

Five AP Top 25 ranked teams from the ACC are in action in Week 7, including No. 3 Clemson and the surging No. 17 Virginia Tech.

However, getting the ball rolling on Friday night is No. 7 Louisville, takes on Duke at the Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium at 7:00pm ET, live on ESPN and WatchESPN.

The Cardinals (4-1, 2-1 ACC), who sit fourth in the ACC Atlantic, are coming off a rest week last weekend and they will be looking to get back on track after losing to Clemson prior to their bye.

Lamar Jackson, who currently sits well in the race for the Heisman Trophy, will seek to add to his impressive individual stats this season, as he’s combined 2,313 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns already in the campaign.

Jackson also has Louisville sitting at No. 1 in the country on offense, is being regarded as one of the toughest quarterbacks to tackle.

In the defeat to the Tigers, Jackson passed for 295 yards and ran 162 yards and accounted for three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Virginia Tech (4-1, 2-0) takes its undefeated league record into Saturday’s game against Syracuse at Carrier Dome.

The Hokies, pushed by junior quarterback Jerod Evans, have won three straight, including the impressive 34-3 victory at then-No. 17 North Carolina last weekend.

Evans has accounted for 12 touchdowns in the active three-game winning streak, including five TDs in the air in the 49-0 win over Boston College on September. 17.

The Orange (2-4) have dropped four of their last five games, including the last two to Notre Dame and Wake Forest.

Elsewhere, star running back Dalvin Cook and No. 14 Florida State (4-2) go in search of their third victory in the last four games against Wake Forest.

The Seminoles battled to a dramatic 20-19 win over then-No. 10 Miami last week when DeMarcus Walker blocked an extra point attempt that would have tied the game for the Hurricanes.

In the meantime, sitting at No. 16 this week, Miami will face North Carolina with both teams looking to bounce back from defeats.

Pittsburgh is at Virginia, while Georgia Southern is at Georgia Tech in the other ACC college football battles.
