MIAMI (Sporting Alert) — No. 1 Alabama, second ranked Florida State, and No. 3 Ohio State all scored victories in NCAA college football action on Saturday, but No. 4 Stanford was stunned by the unranked Southern California (USC).

The Crimson Tide improved to 10-0 on the season with a 20-7 victory over Mississippi State to cement their dominance in NCAAF, while No. 2 Florida State (10-0) hammered Syracuse 59-3 to maintain their strong position in the BCS standings.

Third-ranked Ohio State gave away 35 points against Illinois, but still eased to a 60-35 win on the same day. No. 5 Baylor thrashed Texas Tech 63-34, No. 6 Oregon avoided any hiccups against Utah with a 44-21 win and No. 7 Auburn scored a 43-38 win over (25) Georgia.
