LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski looks well set to leave the club in January, but the German international says he will not be joining Tottenham Hotspur.
The player is being linked with a £10m move to White Hart Lane, but tweeted that, “hell will freeze over” first before that switch happens.
“Hell will freeze over before this transfer would happen,” he said on Twitter.
There is no secret about the intentions of Arsenal to let Podolski go during the January transfer window and it is being reported that Serie A champions Juventus and Turkish side Galatasaray are keeping tabs on the 29-year-old again.
Both clubs were reportedly very interested in signing the forward in the summer, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger wanted to hold on to him as cover, following a string of injuries to attacking players heading into the new season.
Still, despite those injury problems, Podolski is yet to make an English Premier League appearance this campaign, and it is understood that he no longer has any desire to stay at the Emirates.
Podolski moved to Arsenal for the 2012-13 season from Cologne and used to be a key member of Wenger’s squad.
However, things have quickly changed.
It is also believed that Germany manager Joachim Low has instructed the former Bayern Munich striker to consider his options in January.
