ADELAIDE (Sporting Alert) — Scoreboard and details on the opening day of the 2nd Ashes Test match between Australia and England at Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

Australia winning the toss and batting first reached 273 for five on a very good batting pitch. England pulled themselves back into the game after Australia made a bright start, but the tourists dropped three catches to let the hosts back into the game.

Shane Watson, Chris Rogers and George Bailey all scored half-centuries, while Stuart Broad has taken two of the five wickets for England.
