MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane says winger Ashley Young is not good enough to play for the club, following another poor outing for the Red Devils on Tuesday night.
Young, who has drop off his best form since moving to Manchester United, was handed a surprised start by David Moyes against Shakhtar at Old Trafford in the Champions League on matchday six.
However, the England attacker was again very poor in yet another lacklustre display by the Premier League champions and Keane has apparently had enough.
“They (United) had a couple of good chances through Ashley Young towards the end of the first half,” Keane said at his half-time on ITV.
“He should certainly hit the target. I think it sums up his time at Man United, just not good enough.”
The legendary Old Trafford midfielder was also not impress with Rio Ferdinand’s display either.
He said: “Rio Ferdinand’s decision making, the chances he has taken, it is ridiculous. It is like his debut tonight.
“As we said before the game, there are big question marks over the manager and the players. That for Manchester United is certainly not good enough.”
