NO. 3 MICHIGAN STATE 71, NO. 24 LOUISVILLE 67

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Denzel Valentine had 25 points, seven assists and five rebounds and No. 3 Michigan State rallied to beat No. 24 Louisville 71-67 on Wednesday night in the college basketball Big Ten v ACC Challenge.

Valentine, who shot 7-of-16 from the field, was well supported by Bryn Forbes, as he finished with a season-high 20 points for the Spartans (8-0), who trailed by 13 in the first half before trimming the deficit to three points at halftime.

Michigan State went on to take its first lead with 6:47 left and then held on for the eighth successive win to start the season.

Damion Lee scored 23 points and picked off five Spartans players for five steals, and Trey Lewis added 21 points, six rebounds and three assists for Louisville (5-1), which was losing for the first time this season.

The Cardinals were outrebounded 40-30 by Michigan State, which had 17 assists — 10 more than Louisville had.

NO. 7 DUKE 94, INDIANA 74

DURHAM, N.C. — Brandon Ingram scored a season-best 24 points and Matt Jones added a career-high 23, and No. 7 Duke beat Indiana 94-74 on Wednesday night in the Big Ten v ACC Challenge.

Ingram stepped up to shoot 10-for-15 from the field, including four 3-pointers and grabbed six rebounds, while Jones knocked down five 3-pointers in the victory.

Grayson Allen scored 16 points, Derryck Thornton finished with 12 off the bench and Amile Jefferson had a balanced performance of 11 rebounds, eight points and eight assists for the Blue Devils (7-1), who shut down Indiana from the field for the first 8 and 1/2 minutes of the second half.

Troy Williams scored 17 points and Yogi Ferrell added 15 in the win for the Hoosiers (5-3), who dropped two of their last three games.

James Blackmon Jr. finished with 14 points for Indiana, which shot 50.9 percent in the defeat.

Duke shot 52 percent from the floor en route to collecting its fifth successive win.

The Blue Devils slipped one place in the college basketball AP top 25 rankings this week, despite not losing since going down to then-No. 2 Kentucky, which is now No. 1 in the rankings.
