SPURS 123, JAZZ 98

SAN ANTONIO — Tim Duncan scored a season-high 18 points and had eight rebounds and six assists, and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Utah Jazz 123-98 to remain unbeaten at home in the NBA this season.

San Antonio (31-6), which had eight other players scoring in double figures, improved to 21-0 this term to matched the best start in franchise history.

Kawhi Leonard scored 15 points, David West added 14 points and 13 rebounds, Manu Ginobili had 14 points, while Boban Marjanovic, Kyle Anderson and Jonathon Simmons each scored 13 points in the win for the Spurs, who won six games in a row.

Trey Burke had 21 points for the Jazz and four assists off the bench and Gordon Hayward added 18 points, four assists and four rebounds for Utah (15-19) in the defeat.

CAVALIERS 121, WIZARDS 115

WASHINGTON — LeBron James scored 34 points and led four starting players in double figures and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Washington Wizards 121-115 in an NBA battle on Wednesday night.

James, who padded his stats with 10 rebounds and four assists, hit four 3-pointers and was 12 of 22 from the floor in a team-high 40-minutes outing on the night.

Kyrie Irving, who erupted in the fourth quarter — scored 21 of his 32 points in that period — while grabbing five rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Cavaliers (24-9) who won its fifth game in a row.

J.R. Smith added 25 points and Tristan Thompson added 12 in the win for Cleveland, which shot 53.9 percent from the field.

Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards were led by Garrett Temple who scored 21 points, and John Wall who added 20 points and 12 assists, but committed seven of his team’s 12 turnovers.

Gary Neal scored 13 points off the bench and Jared Dudley, Otto Porter Jr. and Marcin Gortat all finished with 12 points for the Wizards, who were without DeJuan Blair, Kris Humphries and Drew Gooden, who remain out due to injuries.
