MIAMI, FL — Jimmy Butler will not play for the Miami Heat when they host the Milwaukee Bucks in Tuesday night’s Eastern Conference game, live on TNT and Watch TNT.

Jimmy Butler Rules Out For Miami Heat


Butler left Miami’s game on Christmas Day with right ankle stiffness and has been listed as day-to-day for this fixture. He first picked up the injury on Dec. 23 in the season-opening defeat against the Orlando Magic.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said the team held Butler out of the second half in the win over the Pelicans at Christmas as a precaution, but the All-Star was ruled out about 90 minutes before the game on Tuesday night.

This game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET and live stream will be on Watch TNT for fans who are using the App on their Amazon Fire TV and Firestick.

The Milwaukee Bucks (1-2) are coming off a disappointing 130-110 loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday, but start the game as a 5.5 point favorite to be Miami. The Over/Under for this contest is set at 226.5 points.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who collected 27 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in Sunday’s loss is expected to provide the bulk of the fire punch alongside Khris Middleton, who is averaging 26.7 points 7.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists through three games this season.


Middleton has made 45.5% of his 3-pointers thus far – connecting on 10 of his 22 attempts across three games.

Bam Adebayo has been the main contributor so far this season for the Heat (1-1) with 21.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. He is also shooting 64.0% from the field.

Goran Dragic is averaging 19.0 points and 8.0 assists heading into this game for Miami, which comes into the game at the American Airlines Arena as a 41.9% underdog, according to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index.

Duncan Robinson is shooting 52.9% from 3-pointers this season and has made 10 of his 19 attempts from two games this early campaign. He made seven against the Pelicans in a record-equalling display.
