NEW YORK, Sporting Alert – Alabama remains No. 1 in the latest College Football AP Top 25 Rankings for Week 5 on Sunday, September 25.

In fact, the top seven stayed the same from Week 4, but Georgia and Michigan State fell big in this week’s poll.

At the top, the Crimson Tide (4-0) collected 50 first-place votes for 1,511 points, after crushing Kent State 48-0 on Saturday for their fourth successive victory.

An inactive Ohio State did nothing to be bumped from No. 2 and collected four first-place votes, while Louisville stayed No. 3, following a 59-28 victory Marshall at the weekend.

The Cardinals (4-0) received six first-place votes and 1,409 points.

Michigan, which received the next first-place vote comes in at No. 4, Clemson is at No. 5, Houston is back at No. 6, with Stanford staying at No. 7.

After beating Michigan State 30-6 on Saturday, Wisconsin moved up three places to No. 8 this week, with Texas A&M, which is up one place to No. 9, after beating then-No. 17 Arkansas 45-24 and Washington completing the top 10.

Tennessee is now to No. 11 this week, after coming from behind to beat Florida 38-28, the recovering Florida State is up one slot to No. 12, Baylor moved up three spots to No. 13, following the 35-24 win over Oklahoma State, while Miami and Nebraska created the top 15 in this week’s College Football AP Top 25.

Meanwhile, after the shocking defeat to Wisconsin, Michigan State drops nine-place to No. 17, while Georgia slipped 13 spots to No. 25, after suffering a 45-14 loss to then-No. 23 Ole Miss, which has since improved to No. 16 this week.

Falling out of the College Football AP Top 25 Rankings for Week 5 were LSU and Oklahoma.

The Tigers were beaten by the unranked Auburn 18-13 on Saturday, while the inactive Week 4 Sooners were pushed up out of the rankings as well.

Boise State (3-0) and TCU (3-1) are the newcomers in this week’s poll.

Oklahoma, North Carolina, Iowa, UCLA, Auburn and LSU are all receiving votes, but have not done enough to warrant a top 25 spot this week.
