COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sporting Alert – Here are the scores and team records for the college football Big Ten games that took place in Week 12 on Saturday, November 21.

Of course, the highlighted Big Ten game this weekend came from Columbus, where No. 9 Michigan State stunned the third-ranked and defending champion Ohio State.

Michael Geiger successfully put away a 41-yard field goal as time terminated to guide the Spartans (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten, No. 9 CFP) to a 17-14 victory over the Buckeyes (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten, No. 3).

Michigan State came in as a huge underdog, but they had belief.

“We know how to win,” winning head coach Mark Dantonio said.

Michigan State, which played without starting quarterback Connor Cook, who was limited to sideline duties because of an injury, stifled Ohio State with a strong defensive effort, with star running back Ezekiel Elliott finishing with just 33 yards rushing for the Buckeyes in the defeat.

Saturday’s loss will certainly knock the defending national champion out of the college football playoff top four, with Urban Meyer side losing its 23-game winning streak in the process.

Elliott was not happy with the way the reigning champs played and he made his feelings heard.

The junior running back, who saw his streak of 15 straight 100-yard rushing games ended, ran the ball 12 times on Saturday and he questioned the play calls.

“I mean there’s no chance of me coming back next year,” he revealed. “I got to make the most of my time left.”

The victory sees Michigan State taking over the lead in the Big Ten East and a win over Penn State next week will book them a place in the league championship.

Meanwhile, Iowa remained undefeated on the season with a 40-20 win over Purdue.

C.J. Beathard threw for three touchdowns and LeShun Daniels Jr. ran for two scores for the Hawkeyes (11-0, 7-0 Big Ten, No. 5 CFP) who are expected to move into the college football playoff top four on Tuesday.

Iowa state also won a share of the Big Ten West title and a place in the Big Ten championship game.
