MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert – The college football top 25 schedule for Week 12 on Saturday, November 19, as the battle for College Football Playoff spots heats up.
Easy Day For Bama
No. 1 Alabama (10-0), which is almost certain of the place in the CFP top four, is expected to have an easy day at the Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, against Chattanooga.
The Crimson Tide, who have already booked their place in the SEC championship game in Atlanta, crushed the Mocs (8-2) 49-0 when they last met in 2013, but both teams’ focus are beyond this weekend.
Live coverage of this matchup starts at 7:00pm ET and will be live on ESPN2.
Ohio State Looks For Another Big Win
Meanwhile, No. 2 Ohio State (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) will visit the Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, to take on a struggling Michigan State team that has won just three times this season and has an overall record of 3-7.
The Buckeyes have outscored their opponents 124-6 in the last two games and Urban Meyer will be hoping for another winning outing this weekend.
As reported by ESPN.com, this week, the Spartans are experiencing their worst season since 2002 when they went 4-8 and 2-6 in conference play.
However, the College Football Playoff semifinalist from last year will remember that they are the ones who have handed Ohio State two of their last three Big Ten defeats.
Live coverage of this game goes off at 12pm ET and will be streamed live on ESPN3 and on ESPN.
Michigan Looks To Bounce Back
Also in the Big Ten, No. 3 Michigan (9-1, 6-1), which held its position in the latest CFP rankings, despite suffering their first loss of the season against Iowa last week, plays host to Indiana.
The Wolverines have a 98 percent chance to win against Indiana, but expect the Hoosiers (5-5, 3-4 Big Ten) to trouble the hosts more than how the ESPN FPI is predicting.
Another key clash in the college football top 25 schedule in Week 12 is a Big 12 conference showdown between No. 9 Oklahoma and No. 14 West Virginia.
The Sooners (8-2, 7-0 Big 12) have won seven games in a row heading into this clash at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, but the Mountaineers (8-1, 5-1 Big 12) are undefeated at home this term and will come out ready to play.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Oklahoma has a 54.8 percent chance to win the game, but West Virginia also has a 45.2 percent chance to pick up the home victory.
The experts believe the winner of this Big 12 showdown can make a case for being in the College Football Playoff discussions.
Watch this game live on ABC, starting at 8:00pm ET, with ESPN3 streaming the clash as well.
Elsewhere in the college football top 25 schedule on Saturday, No. 4 Clemson (9-1, 6-1 ACC) heads into the matchup with Wake Forest at BB&T Field in Winston-salem, NC, knowing that it cannot lose again this campaign.
No. 6 Washington remains in the CFP talks even with last week’s defeat, and the PAC-12 outfit knows that the path to the top four got a little easier after No. 5 Louisville was hammered in Houston in midweek.
Also on the college football top 25 schedule watchlist this week are No. 8 Penn State (8-2, 6-1 Big Ten) which takes on a struggling Rutgers side, as well as No. 13 USC (7-3, 6-2 Pac-12), which faces UCLA at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.
