CONNECTICUT, Sporting Alert – Watch No. 1 Duke tries to bounce back from its first loss of the season against Penn State, live on the ESPN3 schedule on Saturday.

The top-ranked Blue Devils (2-1) were beaten 77-75 by No. 7 Kansas on Tuesday night in the State Farm Champions Classic, but are expected to spring right back up this weekend against the Nittany Lions in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off.

Duke is still without talented freshmen Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum and Marques Bolden who are all out with injuries and they are not expected to play this weekend.

This means, the focus will remain on junior guard Grayson Allen to continue to lead this Blue Devils’ balanced attack, with Luke Kennard, Amile Jefferson and freshman Frank Jackson supporting.

As a team, Duke is scoring 88.3 points per game and giving up 62.3 defensively after three games.

Meanwhile, after losing its season opener to Albany, Penn State recovered to win two in a row and is full of confidence heading into this battle.

According to Duke Sports Information Department, Allen only needs 15 more points to become the 65th Blue Devil to score 1,000-point.

Duke, heading into the clash at Mohegan Sun Arena, in Uncasville, Connecticut, with a 247-74 overall record at neutral sites under head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

In the meantime, after playing all 40 minutes in the defeat against Kansas Tuesday night, it will be interesting to see how coach Krzyzewski handles senior Matt Jones’ minutes this weekend.

He has started 51 straight games in which he has played, according to the Duke Sports Information Department.
