NEW YORK, Sporting Alert College Football Week 2 schedule kicks off on Friday night with two games.
Highest on the list is the clash between No. 13 Louisville and Syracuse at Carrier Dome, in New York, with the game time at 8:00 PM ET.
Live streaming coverage of the game will also be on WatchESPN, with ESPN2 carrying live television broadcast.
Both teams head into this fixture with a 100-percent record this season, having won their respective games, but that’s not the only thing they will have in common entering this contest.
Both coaches, and even the players, have been reflecting on the tempo at which they performed during the opening fixtures.
“I don’t think it was fast enough,” Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey said about the tempo during the 33-7 Week 1 victory over Colgate.
“I’m pretty sure coach was already saying we’re not fast enough. There’s tons of room for improvement.”
Orange coach Dino Babers’ also agrees about lifting the tempo on offense.
“I think what you saw tonight was both sides, a little bit of the good and a little bit of the bad,” Babers said.
“Hopefully, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, what this could become once you work all of the kinks out and you have the right type of individuals giving you the right efforts in the right places.”
Meanwhile, sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson was the highlighted man during the Cardinals’ smashing 70-14 win over Charlotte last Thursday night – accounting for a school-record eight touchdowns and 405 offensive yards in just two quarters.
Jackson connected with 16 of his receivers with passes and accounted for six touchdowns, as he finished with 17 of 23 completed passes for 286 yards.
“I was just trying to get everyone the ball,” said Jackson. “We have a lot of big-time players, and I’m trying to get the ball in their hands instead of it looking like me running around all the time.”
