TULSA, Okla., Sporting Alert – No. 14 Oklahoma and No. 16 Memphis are the expected big winners for the Week 9 NCAA college football matchups, according to the most recent opening lines for the games on October 31.
The Sooners (6-2) who easily put away Texas Tech 63-27 in Norman, Okla., this past weekend, travel to Memorial Stadium, in Lawrence, Kan, in Week 9 to take on winless Kansas (0-7) in a Big 12 contest.
According to the opening lines – provided by oddsshark.com – Oklahoma starts as 39-points favourite to hand the Jayhawks an eighth successive defeat this season and its 11th in a row, dating back to last season.
Last year the Sooners ran away with this contest 44-7 and the oddsmakers expect this term’s battle to be pretty much the same.
In the meantime, Memphis heads into their matchup with Tulane as 27.5-points favourite and it is easy to see why.
The sixth-ranked Tigers (7-0) are coming off a high-scoring 66-42 victory over Tulsa and are hunting their eighth successive win this term, while the Green Wave (2-5) are on a rough patch at the moment, as they try to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat.
Memphis won this game 38-7 last year.
Meanwhile, after losing for the first time this season to USC, No. 13 Utah should rebound at home against Oregon State this coming weekend.
The Utes (6-1), who have a tricky set of fixtures to come after this game, start as 21.5-points favourites against the Beavers (2-5).
In other Week 9 opening lines for games that including AP Top 25 ranked teams, as of Sunday’s latest release, No. 17 Florida State is expected to bounce back from the shocking last play defeat to Georgia Tech last Saturday, as they start 19.5-points favourite against Syracuse, No. 24 UCLA is 18.5-points favourite against Colorado, while No. 5 TCU opens Week 9 as a 14.5 favourite to beat West Virginia.
