NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Sporting Alert) — At the half-way stage, Connecticut is leading Notre Dame in the battle of the undefeated teams this season, as they go in search of winning the NCAA Women’s National Basketball Championship at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Huskies (39-0) and the Fighting Irish (37-0) both advanced to the final unbeaten and both teams are showing why they have boost such records.
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Breanna Stewart each have 14 points in the first half, as UConn takes a 45-38 lead into the half-time break.
Stewart also has five rebounds, three assists and two blocks, while Stefanie Dolson has 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and three blocks for the Huskies, who once had a 14 point lead in the game.
Kayla McBride is currently leading the Fighting Irish with 13 points, with Jewell Loyd scoring 11 points and Michaela Mabrey going into the half-time break with 10.
Tonight’s championships game between Connecticut and Notre Dame is the first time in NCAA history that two undefeated teams are facing off for the national title.
