Battier comes in for Udonis Haslem, who started in the win over the New York Knicks on Sunday. The Miami (42-34) continues to be without All-Star guard Dwyane Wade, who has an injured hamstring.

Haslem misses the game because of a stomach virus.

Miami is coming off a 102-91 victory over the Knicks in their last outing.

Meanwhile, the Nets (42-34) are without forward Andray Blatche, who has been ruled out of the game because of an illness, the team reports. He is averaging 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season.

Veteran Kevin Garnett is also out of the game, which means that Mason Plumlee could see a lot more minutes tonight.
