PERTH (Sporting Alert) — Australia recovered to close play on the first day of the third Ashes Test match against England on 326 for six at the at Western Australia Cricket Association Ground in Perth on Friday.

When stumps where drawn at the close, Steve Smith was there not out on a fantastic 103 off 191 with 13 fours and two 6s, with fast bowler Mitchell Johnson is also unbeaten on 39.

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first and here is the scoreboard after the opening day’s play.
