Phoenix starts this new season with high expectations and is confident about finally ending a 10-season playoff drought. The Suns come into this game as slight favorites with ESPN’s Basketball Power Index giving them a 60.9% chance of starting the season with a win at home.
The addition of Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder and veteran forward Jae Crowder from the Miami Heat, has truly re-energized the Phoenix squad. Paul and Crowder are expected to link up well with shooting guard Devin Booker in driving the team forward.
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic, who is being touted as an early MVP candidate, is expected to provide the bulk of the spark for Dallas.
The 21-year-old had a brilliant season last year where he averaged 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists in 61 games and has the ability to register a triple-double every time he steps on the court.
