WIMBLEDON (Sporting Alert) — The opening round of the men’s and women’s fixture at the 2013 Wimbledon Tennis champions kicks goes off on Monday, with several top seeds set for action.

On the men’s side No. 2 seed Andy Murray, third-seeded and defending champion Roger Federer and the fifth-seeded Rafael Nadal will all taste action on the opening day.
Murray, the runner-up from last year, will take on Benjamin Becker, Victor Hanescu will be hoping for an upset against Federer, while Nadal takes on Steve Darcis.
On the women’s side, two-time Australian Open champion and second-seed Victoria Azarenka opens against Maria Joao Koehler, No. 3 Maria Sharapova battle with Kristina Mladenovic, while No. 5 Sara Errani against Monica Puig, No. 8 Petra Kvitova against Coco Vandeweghe and No. 9 Caroline Wozniacki against Estrella Cabeza Candela are the other top 10 seeds on the schedule on Monday.
A total of 32 singles matches are down for the first day at Wimbledon on both the men and women side.
