MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City target Isco has dropped his biggest hint yet on joining Real Madrid this summer after admitting that the changes of a playing for the Spanish giants “excites me.”
Reports in the Spanish media claimed that the Spanish international has turned down the chance to link back up with his former Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini in the English Premier League (EPL) and has decided to stay home and play with Real Madrid.
Malaga have already admitted that Isco would be sold this summer and the attacking midfielder, who helped Spain U21 side lift that title last week, hinted that Real Madrid could be his next destination.
Spanish newspaper AS quoted Isco saying: “Madrid excites me.
“They are one of the best teams in the world.”
Manchester City had hoped to tempt the superstar to the EPL and were almost certain that his old coach Pellegrini, who replaced Roberto Mancini as the manager, had persuaded him enough to join his project.
However, if reports are true then it is highly likely that Isco will be taking his talent to the Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, back in England, Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer was quoted as saying: “It has been a see-saw market with City and Real exchanging favouritism, but things have become very one-sided over the last 24 hours with the money and media implying he will sign at the Bernabeu.
“It also raises the question as to where City will turn next in the transfer market with Edinson Cavani, who had also been backed to arrive at the Etihad Stadium, also seemingly favouring a move to the Spanish capital.”
It is believed that Sky Bet has also suspended betting.
