LONDON, Sporting Alert — English Premier League fixtures for Week 9 on Friday, October 20 through Sunday, October 22.
The Week 9 schedule opens up on Friday with West Ham United taking on newly promoted Brighton at London Stadium.
But the game of the week is expected to come from Wembley Stadium on Sunday where Tottenham and Liverpool will meet.
Kick-off time for this one is set for 11:00 a.m. ET with Tottenham, which recently impressed in a 1-1 draw at Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek, starting as the slight favorites to pick up all three points.
This fixture is also expected to produce goals so a scoring draw could very well be on the cards as well.
Leaders Manchester City, which hammered Stoke City 7-2 in Week 8, will start as the heavy favorite to turn over Burnley at Etihad Stadium.
The Citizens, who have been scoring freely and frequently over the last few weeks, have an unbeaten streak of 16 games and have scored more goals per game than Burnley concede.
Second place Manchester United travel to John Smith’s Stadium for a date with Huddersfield Town and the Red Devils, as expected, are the favorites to travel home with all three points.
Jose Mourinho played a very defensive tactic in the 0-0 draw at Anfield last week, but the Portuguese coach is anticipated to play a little more attacking in Week 9.
In other English Premier League fixtures for Week 9, defending champions Chelsea will aim to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace last week when they host Watford, while struggling Everton entertain Arsenal.
Newcastle United will play host to Crystal Palace, Stoke City will welcome Bournemouth, the managerless Leicester City will make the trip to Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea City, while Southampton are preparing for the visit of West Bromwich Albion.
