RIO DE JANEIRO (Sporting Alert) — The following are the starting lineups for the Fifa World Cup final between Germany and Argentina at the Estadio do Maracana Stadium.

Both head coaches have named unchanged from their respective semi-final wins over Brazil and the Netherlands for the deciding game.

This means that Ezequiel Lavezzi keeps his place in the attack for Argentina, despite the return to fully fitness by Sergio Agüero. Marcos Rojo has also shaken off an ankle problem to start.

Defender Mats Hummels, who was replaced at half-time against Brazil keeps his place in the line up for Germany, so too does the heavily criticized Mesut Özil.

Germany have scored 17 goals at the 2014 World Cup so far and have conceded four. Joachim Low’s side has netted 10 in the knock out stages and let in two.

Meanwhile, Argentina, which have never fall behind at this tournament, have scored eight times in Brazil and conceded three. However, Alejandro Sabella’s men are yet to let in a goal in the knock out stages here.

Germany have won the World Cup three times, while Messi is hoping to lead Argentina to the country’s third to go equal with their European opponents.

The Germans are seek to become the first European side to win the tournament in South America in four attempts.
